Initial Consult

(90 mins/$175)

Initial sessions are 90 minutes (virtual) so that I can get to know your dog and your household and gain a deeper understanding of your situation. Together we will collaborate on a plan to reach your behavioral goals.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING:

Our dog Arda has a hard time meeting new people and also has a history of shutting down when visiting vet offices. In preparation for her first appointment at a new vet office, we worked through a plan our amazing trainer Tracy laid out for us. We slowly introduced Arda to the new office, using a familiar exercise—moving to different stations and administering high-value treats at each of them—to help give her something to focus on. Over three short visits, we went from doing the exercise in the parking to having her enter the building and exam room. During this process, we left the outside door to the office open and allowed Arda to leave when she indicated she wanted to go. On the day of our vet visit, we repeated the exercise, only this time the vet was present and was successfully able to interact with Arda. We were blown away by how calm and comfortable Arda was meeting the vet. At the time, it seemed like magic seeing our reactive dog so positively engaged with someone she had just met. But in retrospect, we realized that providing Arda with predictability and agency in short sessions familiarizing her with the new environment before introducing her to the vet made all the difference.

Follow-up Sessions

Once an initial consult has been completed, follow up sessions can be booked. These consultations (virtual or in-person) will focus on implementing actions in order to make progress to reach the goals in your plan.

I am committed to the principle of equity and provide sliding scale payment plans for clients with financial need. Additionally, ask about a discount if you adopted from a shelter or rescue.

We signed up for one session with Tracy, and got so much more help with our puppy than we expected! Although we've raised dogs for forty years, Tracy taught us new, effective training techniques. We had a great experience with trainer Tracy. She was very thoughtful, detailed, responsive, and very empathetic. With our first newborn on the way, we had concerns about how our 4yr old black lab would do with a newborn around the house. Although we are still awaiting the baby’s arrival, we are feeling much more confident that our dog will have an easier transition and that we are armed with knowledge and tools that will help continue to help baby and dog live together in harmony.
